Floral Blazer – 4 Ways

Well I don’t know about you, but I have a thing for floral print.  A MAJOR thing. So a floral blazer? Well, it was a done deal. Here are 4 ways to wear it:

The easiest way to wear it is with a t-shirt and jeans.  (Bonus points if you wear them with colored jeans/cords) Just adds that extra sum’n sum’n to an otherwise plain outfit.

A good casual Friday look would be with a flippy green skirt and a chambray shirt. (I’m pretty much a walking advertisement for LOFT at this point….. they should pay me)

Of course floral print with stripes. It is the new classic print mix combo.  Get to know it!

I was putting together another look with this black sweater dress and decided that the floral blazer looked awesome with it! Sometimes the best looks are literally thrown together last minute. Over the knee boots and a mini dress, how could you go wrong?

Transitioning to Winter

Well, we had a week between 90 degrees and 30 degrees.  It was a nice week.  I went outside, didn’t have to wear shorts, nor did I have to wear a coat.

I miss those days already….

I’m taking this white tee and jeans look from Fall to Winter.

Of course it all starts with an army jacket and a light weight scarf.  And just so you are aware, I am just wearing a white tee shirt, jeans, and booties, then changing everything else.  (Oh and the same purse – that won’t change until I start getting paid to do this, I’m not a professional people!)

To take it a step further, I add a fuzzy bomber jacket and a slightly heavier scarf.

This jacket is actually on sale now at Anthropologie! And it is SUPER soft and comfy. It also falls at a nice place on my waist, just enough crop to make it flattering.

Also, notice the front tuck? Yeah I’m J. Crewin’ it up. (at least trying…)

As you can see from my other posts, I can’t get enough of this scarf.  It literally goes with my entire wardrobe.

And now for the winter coat.

Ok, I have to admit, I am a little excited to wear this one. I put it with a soft metallic sweater knit scarf – COZY.

OR you can just put it with your summer chiffon infinity scarf.  You won’t be as cozy, but you will look fabulous!

Just think of your winter coat as an outerwear dress.  You want to accessorize it too!

Here is the jewelry I’m wearing underneath:

Just something simple.  It is always good to have a simple long necklace you can throw on with anything!

So when I told my husband how I wanted to post more about what I wore everyday instead of just every once in awhile, he started laughing so hard he fell on the floor.  Ok, so I wear a lot of lounge clothes. I admit it. But, I can still get dressed up to go to the grocery store! Another reason why I substitute teach, I can wear my cute dresses and patterned pants.

Black and white dresses are awesome because you can wear them during any season and you can wear almost any type of shoe and any type of accessory.   In fact, if you follow this blog I’m sure you will see a lot of black and white dresses.

A lot of times I put a bright belt with this dress, but today I decided to go with a more classic look and put my gold belt and clear bead statement necklace with it.

I added a touch of color with this great hunter green jacket from LOFT.

Finally I added this great metallic grey scarf to add a little extra layering and also to be more conservative at work.

You can see how easy it is to layer in the winter! If it was freezing I would have added tights, and worn a long coat over the small blazer.

Layering Neon

This past week at the local high school was spirit week, and one of the days was “Neon Day”.  I decided that neon day would be the best day for me to substitute, obviously.  However, I was disappointed with the amount of neon being worn.

I have the perfect dress for neon day.  It is so neon that it reflects off of my face. How awesome is that?

In order to calm it down at little, I put very neutral accessories with it: Gold belt, Clear bead statement necklace, brown boots, and my cat. (I honestly could not get my cat to stop walking in front of me in every picture, I don’t get it.  Maybe he was a model in a past life, I don’t know. Moving on!)

Because it was cold outside and I wanted to make the look a little more casual, I added a floral scarf.

Picking out my jacket was the hardest part. What do you put with neon? A brown jacket would have added too much brown to the outfit, but grey did not make sense either.  Finally I came to my senses, NAVY.  Navy blue looks awesome with neon and adds a mature touch to the look.

The most important thing to remember about wearing neon is to put neutral accessories with it.  Taupe, gold, and navy blue look great with most neon colors. OR if you have a neon statement piece, let it stand out by wearing neutral clothes.
